Summer
Introduction
此短片早前於「Amsterdam Lift-Off Film Festival」榮獲「Special Mention Winner」及於「Paris Lift-Off Festival」中放映。
In 2017 spring, Etienne joined an artist residence program, exploring the lives in Japan’s Gunma prefecture is a photo series shot by Etienne Leung during her 6-week artist residency in Onishi, a small town located in Fujioka, Gunma, Japan.
This photography project worked in parallel with Etienne’s short documentary film Lucky Boy – a story about a young single father, who pursues the healthy lifestyle through his relationship with nature and her daughter Asako.I began to document on whatever I saw with my film camera since the day I arrived in Onishi, and within a short period of time I was able to make strong connections with the locals. Everyone to me was an “artist”, and generally very hands-on : retired Biwa rockstar, ceramist, tea ceremony artist etc. As I spent more time on exploring their farm lives, I then learnt how simplicity brought themselves happiness. As a city girl, I hope to convey what I learnt from them through my creative approach.
